Religion, like elsewhere in Ireland, has played a big part of life in the Glen. Apart from The Church of the Immaculate Conception, (Glenshesk Chapel), there is much evidence of how religion has shaped Glenshesk over the centuries. The Glen is actually dovetailed with Bonamargy Abbey at one end, and Ardagh, where the monks lived, at the other. To Find out more about how religion has impacted the Glen, check out the tab “Life in the Glens” and then select “Religion” on any of the web pages.
